I'm writing this review as a warning to other parents. My experience with GlassesUSA started with excitement for my son but ended in a masterclass in frustration. We ordered a pair of glasses for our 12-year-old after he found them using the virtual try-on, but he said he had trouble seeing with them. A trip back to the doctor confirmed our fears: the pupil distance (PD) was incorrect. The problem is, the glassesusa site does not prompt you to provide the PD number, and if you don’t know to provide it, they will just assume a value… Of course, that means the value will be wrong for many buyers. Trying to resolve this was a nightmare. Please know you will never be able to reach a human at glassesusa and have a real phone conversation if you call them, so plan on frustration if your glasses are not correct. This is what finally drove me to leave a review and try their customer service chat one last time.
Customer: My son's new glasses are unwearable. The PD is wrong because your site just guessed a number instead of asking for it. CS Rep: I am very sorry to hear about the problem with your son's glasses. Could you please provide your order number so I can assist you? Customer: It's [Order Number]. We had to go back to the doctor to figure out your mistake. Now he has no glasses while we wait for you to fix this. CS Rep: I understand your frustration, and I sincerely apologize. I see the order and the default PD used. We can absolutely remake the lenses with the correct measurement at no cost to you. Customer: And how does that work? I have to ship these back first, right? I've heard the email interactions are too slow, causing the process to drag on. CS Rep: I can expedite the process for you. I will send a prepaid return label to your email now. Once the return is scanned by the carrier, I will personally place the priority remake order.
